Mindy Howes

Mindy received her Bachelor of Science degree from West Liberty University with a specialization in Accounting and Administrative Science and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

Mindy has over twelve years of experience in public accounting.  Starting her career in public accounting in 2013 at a CPA firm in West Virginia, then moved to Florida in 2017 and was promoted to Assurance Partner in 2023.

Her career focus has been in auditing, tax, and consulting services.  Her specialty has been nonprofit entities, including entities requiring Yellow Book and/or Single Audit reporting.  She also has extensive experience in: HOA and condominium associations, rental properties, ERISA audits, franchisor audits, and construction.

Her experience includes planning and conducting procedures for comprehensive GAAP based financial and compliance audits, reviews, and compilations, preparation of financial statements including disclosures and supplementary information, documenting and consulting on client’s procedures and internal controls, and tax preparation and compliance.   Her experience has provided her with a vast knowledge necessary to efficiently and effectively complete the multifaceted aspects of large engagements. Her wrap-up skills will bring together the engagement and provides valued management comments. She also spearheads the firm’s annual quality control monitoring under AICPA peer review guidelines.

In addition to their technical expertise, Mindy is known for building strong relationships with clients, providing clear communication, and delivering insights that drive strategic decision-making. Her collaborative approach and dedication to clients success make her a valued partner for any organization.

Mindy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA).  She provides the annual voting certification for Impact 100 of Indian River County, and formerly serves on the women’s leadership committee for Women’s United in St. Lucie County, and former Treasurer of United Way St. Lucie & Okeechobee County.

Outside the office, she enjoys gardening, walking, and spending time with family.  Mindy moved to Florida in 2017 from Ohio and resides in Vero Beach with her husband and son.
